Re-Imagining The Wizard of Oz

This is a project that recreates The Wizard of Oz using the Japanese anime illustration style.

Concept & Objective

This project recreated the original The Wizard of Oz in Japanese anime-style illustrations. As there are already spinoffs of the original story, the Broadway show “Wicked,” there are many possibilities to develop a new unique story. My project's selling points are that the main protagonists are all anime girls, and there are two main antagonists instead of one which are The Wizard and The Wicked Witch. My final aim for this project is to showcase my illustration skills by making an animation pre-production for The Wizard of Oz. This project is aimed at the Gen Y&Z audience which has an interest in anime comic and game genre (ACG).
