Solar is a casual rhythm game concept featuring a young girl residing in a futuristic Bangkok filled with mutant monsters. In this game, players guide a young girl through different districts of the city, to defeat the monsters and explore elements of Thai traditional foods, dances, cultural festivals, and folklore.

“Solar” is a rhythm game concept in the setting of futuristic Bangkok, where pollution has destroyed the environment, leading to mutations in animals and plants. A young girl named Sunny, encounters a monster companion who can help her find the key to save her town. The game’s objective is to advertise the beauty of Thai heritage such as foods, dances, festivals, and folklore.

SUNNY

Sunny’s design is an inspiration from a Thai mythological creature called “Paya Yak”. Blending cartoonist style with elements of Japanese animation, her design is a well kept appearance and is dressed in a mix of Thai traditional clothes like Jon Gra Baen and Sabai.

The game concept serves as my exploration of character design and environment drawing through the lens of 2D animation game trailers, with various elements, including character introductions, gameplay sequences, and an accompanying Thai instruments soundtrack.
