Message from the Dean

I would like to start by welcoming our students, parents, academic staff, and partners to the Digital Communication Design annual degree show. It is truly a pleasure to be inspired every year by our students’ exceptional viewpoints and artistic skills, along with their unique perspectives on a wide range of topics, and themes.

This year, due to the unfortunate and extraordinary situation of covid-19 that everyone has been experiencing, students have needed to expand their arsenal of talents, and learn to adapt by having this first online exhibition. Despite the extra development work, this gesture shows just what global citizens our students have become with a keen awareness for the safety of everyone.

Understanding the global community that they live in has also inspired the name for the degree show this year entitled ‘Jigsaw’. This creative name was chosen by the students to represent the notions that ‘We are all different pieces to the same human puzzle.’  The 11th degree show Jigsaw is a fantastic opportunity for students to present their final projects which are an accumulation of the students’ hard work and diligence.

Silpakorn University International College is most proud of the vibrant Digital Communication Design programme as it prepares students in disciplines such as animation, graphics, design, photography, illustration, media advertising, video, and sound production. All of these disciplines are wonderfully represented in the students’ work. 

The partnership with Birmingham City University further develops creativity and critical thinking skills which allow students to graduate with the right skillsets for future employment in a global multinational environment. This international standard degree show is a testament to the tremendous talent that the students possess and will result in the award of a double degree from two prestigious institutions.

I would therefore, like to thank the teachers, families, and our industry partners who have helped guide and support the students along their journey. We sincerely congratulate our students on their fine achievements so far and I look forward to seeing them accomplish even greater things in the future and throughout their professional working lives.
