ABOUT ME
My passions lie in art, especially in illustration – I really love creating fan-art and posting comics on my social media. Moreover, I have always enjoyed product design and how stationary products are given more value and made cuter when illustrations are applied to them. My project uses these ideas precisely and transfers cute comic illustrations onto several products of my creation.
My project focuses on the appearance of women issues, including body shaming and concerns about beauty. This research supports and comforts women who are struggling with their appearance through the use of a relatable narrative via illustration as well as the development of products and publications.
There is a lack of female positive imagery. My project generates a means to help build up women’s self-esteem along with providing comfort and understanding on female appearance issues.
Because of this I have created a relatable illustrated narrative which I applied to products using print which raises feminist concerns about female issues of appearance.
These illustrations and products will increase women’s self-esteem and decrease negative feelings towards themselves for better mental health. This will bring about positive energy and a happier future outlook for women.
