My project wants people to raise awareness on how packaging design is important, as it can surprisingly add value to the business.
The title of my major project is “Design for Solution.” I got this topic from a problem I found in Thailand, in that I’ve noticed that people do not place any value on design itself. It is questioned as to why good design is expensive?
The first project from Mccan Manchester requested designs for beer bottles, labels and beer cartons for a crafted beer called, “truth well told”. The concept of this project is fun, engaging, and eye-catching. In the briefs, they talked about the cat in their site, so I use cat to be a mascot in this project. The second project from Barilla Packaging experience awards. Beyond any label design, this project required new packaging experience solutions to be considered in regards to material, composition, and practical function. The thin plastic squeezer reduced the usage of plastic along with consideration of user experience. A-Design Award and Competition project aimed more so on looks and tone with instructions to improve upon the branded imagery. This particular experience allowed me free reign with the overall image composition alongside a newfound excitement of pattern design development. Thaistar Packaging awards competition is about making sustainability packaging design which openly in concept and product. For this project, I think of redeveloping from A-Design Competition because skincare is quite exciting to working with. It can show the difference between common packaging and sustainable one. The result of this project is successful. I had been through the research to see other people’s aspects on how design should be and 85% of respondents answer the one that I expected. Therefore, I realized quickly that design is more than imaginary, it required knowledge, skill, and thought, which good thought is expensive. Design said something depends on what the message is.
